For Nurses
All nurses are welcome at any training workshop. If you would like to have a training at your facility, three different offerings are available for labor and delivery nurses.
Doulaing the Doula® trainings are the entire package: doula skills learned from an experienced doula, research scientist, and award winning educator who is personally invested in your learning. Dr. Amy Gilliland is one of the most respected doula trainers in North America. The printed manual is 270 plus pages of useful handouts and reference materials, with an additional 30 pages of electronic material. Beginning business strategies are presented, with individual assignments and planning time built into the course.
All people (races, ethnicities, religions, sexes, genders, and other identities) are invited to participate in DTD trainings. Youth ages 16 and 17 may also attend; having an involved guardian, parent, or program leader to talk to afterwards is a good idea. Contact me and we’ll chat. Accommodation for differing abilities is also possible, depending on the site and your learning needs.

The workhshop is designed to meet the learning needs of doulas rather than parents. It creatively covers the childbirth information you need to get started as a doula.
The workshop is designed to help participants become expert labor support providers. It utilizes texts and supplementary literature, videos, slides, and role play to build theoretical knowledge and practical skills. The workshop constitutes one step in the certification process for DONA International.
Our workshop can teach you the skills that are left out of most healthcare curriculum but are vital to providing effective and caring emotional support.
Amy is a master teacher.
