During our “Training for Students In Medical Professions” Course, you will work with a DTD Doula Trainer and Other Students to thoroughly understand:
- The emotions and psychological processes associated with labor and birth.
- The Physiology of pregnancy, birth, postpartum, and breastfeeding
- Common tests given during pregnancy
- Definitions of medical terms regarding labor
- Hands on skills in positioning and comfort measures.
- Relaxation techniques, breathing patterns, and comfort measures for labor
- How to assist clients to empower themselves in labor and advocate effectively.
- Positions for first and second stage of labor
- The sexuality of childbirth
- Narcotic, epidural and nitrous oxide pain medication administration and effects
- Procedures and tests used during normal birth; their risks and benefits
- Birth from the baby’s perspective
- The basics of infant mental health
This Course Will Equip You With:
- A deeper understanding of labor and delivery dynamics to improve patient outcomes.
