Our Postpartum Doula Training is designed to empower postpartum doulas in supporting families when an infant has complex care needs and in helping parents find harmony in a new household. When families are delayed in or won’t be bringing home a baby, our postpartum doulas specialize in nurturing the family through their grief and adjustment process. This three-day in-person workshop covers key topics and support techniques to help postpartum doulas better serve their client families.

Description

This training workshop is a required component to our Postpartum Doula Certification Program. During this training workshop, we will explore in detail:

  • Doula scope and standards of practice
  • Developing a postpartum plan
  • Physiological postpartum recovery
  • Mental health and signs of postpartum mood and anxiety disorders
  • Cultural healing practices around the world
  • Newborn behaviors, cues and needs
