Online, Interactive Certification at Your Own Pace

Build your skills and confidence as you work with birthing families. DTD Birth Doula Certification combines real-world experience, reflection, and individualized feedback from your trainer, so you continue growing beyond your initial training.

You’ll support six families, gather feedback, reflect on your birth experiences, and respond to six selections from the DTD Reading List. Responses may be submitted in writing or by video. Provisional Certification allows you to begin serving families while completing the process.

Upon successful completion, you receive the Certified Birth Doula (CBD) credential, printed and electronic certificates, a photo ID badge and lanyard, and two years of listing in the DTD Certified Doula Directory.

Birth Doula Certification is part of the complete DTD certification pathway, which also requires the DTD Childbirth Course, Birth Doula Training, Postpartum Course, and Infant Feeding Course.
