Founder, Roots4Change Cooperative, Community Health Worker, Kichwa Andean Indigenous Medicine Practitioner, Reiki I & II, Trauma Informed Care Instructor. Aida has been a birth doula since 2018. In 2023, Roots4Change, the doula cooperative that she helped to found attended 8% of all births in our county. In just five years, they have changed outcomes for Latina and Indigenous families. Aida was born and raised in the Andes Pijal Otavalo- Ecuador. “In my native community, honoring childbirth with great kindness and respect are key principles and traditions. I firmly believe that coming into the world with love, naturalness, and patience is a human right all should have.” These attitudes permeate Aida’s teaching skills and she brings many quiet gifts to her classroom.
